I was just downstairs talking to my brother while he played an online session of Call of Duty (2? 3? 3.14?). I overheard the following when I moved into the kitchen.

Modest Needs - They offer one-time grants to people who are faced with short-term emergency expenses. I like that the money will be put to immediate use.
Ali Forney Center - They offer housing and vocational training to LGBT homeless youth, and they’re local. I like that their donation page spells out what they need/want in terms of donations.

What are good charities to donate to this holiday...
I’m going home for Christmas and my folks will want us all to go to church (Roman Catholic). I protest, but it never goes over well. This year I will ask that all money that would go to the church be given to the charity of my choice in return for my attendance at mass. I need some nice “gay-commie-pinko-liberal” good works groups that could use some money this holiday season.
